How we got here

Transparency has been a core value for our team since we founded our first company LuxCitizenship in 2016. Over nine years of assisting more than 3,000 Americans through the citizenship-by-descent process, we built what we believe is the most accurate single-country eligibility assessment in the industry — returning preliminary results that hold up at roughly 98 percent accuracy once full documentary review is complete.

When we launched Citizenship.EU in September 2025, we brought that methodology to more than 22 ancestry-citizenship pathways across Europe. The product has evolved quickly:

  • September 2025 — The first public version of the Citizenship.EU assessment shipped as part of our paid Eligibility Report.
  • November 2025 — We released the Eligibility Calculator, a lighter companion product.
  • February 15, 2026 — We relaunched the platform with a subscription model and a revised free Eligibility Assessment Tool, adding more targeted questions to sharpen the results users receive. Users who create an account in our portal can submit unlimited free eligibility assessments.

The Live Eligibility Dashboard is powered by submissions to this latest version of the tool, from February 15, 2026 forward.

Why We Built It

Our users ask us, often, what the realistic odds look like for someone with their family background to obtain dual citizenship. We’ve always believed that such a response should be backed with data. Now, we can provide this feedback live for all 23 countries on our platform (22 EU countries, 1 non-EU European country, more coming soon). In addition to our live scoreboard, the live eligibility odds are now reflected on all individual Country Pages for each supported country.

This way, not only are we showing the odds, but we’re further committing to our data transparency and to provide a view for the world on who is interested in dual citizenship through ancestry, where, who is actually eligible, and how that changes over time.

Transparency is the same principle that has guided everything we’ve built: give people the truth about the law, up front, before they spend money or time they don’t need to spend.
